Cookies Policy
How we use cookies on our website, what data they collect, and how you can manage your preferences.
01
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit — such as which pages you viewed — so your next visit is smoother and the site is more useful to you. Cookies cannot carry viruses or access information on your device beyond what was set by the website.
02
Cookies We Use
Softnixt uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or sell any cookie data. The cookies we set fall into the following categories:
- Essential cookies — required for basic site functionality such as page navigation and security. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — used to understand how visitors interact with our website (pages visited, time on site, referral source). All data is anonymised.
- Performance cookies — help us detect errors and measure page load times so we can improve your experience.
03
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data. Google Analytics sets cookies (typically _ga, _gid, and _gat) to distinguish unique visitors and throttle request rates. We have enabled IP anonymisation, which means your full IP address is never stored. The data we collect includes pages viewed, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic region.
Google's own privacy policy governs how Google processes this data. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
04
Third-Party Cookies
Certain pages on our site may embed content from or link to third-party services (such as embedded videos or social sharing widgets). These third parties may set their own cookies when you interact with their content. Softnixt does not control third-party cookies and is not responsible for how those services use them. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.
05
Managing & Disabling Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are stored and delete them individually or in bulk
- Block third-party cookies while allowing first-party cookies
- Set your browser to notify you before a cookie is stored
- Block all cookies (note: this may prevent some parts of the site from functioning correctly)
Instructions for managing cookies differ by browser. Refer to your browser's help documentation or visit allaboutcookies.org for browser-specific guidance.
06
Cookie Retention Periods
Different cookies are retained for different periods:
- _ga (Google Analytics): 2 years from last activity
- _gid (Google Analytics): 24 hours
- _gat (Google Analytics): 1 minute (used to throttle request rate)
- Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close your browser
07
Your Privacy Choices
If you would prefer that we do not collect analytics data about your visit, you can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on or by disabling JavaScript and cookies in your browser. For any other privacy-related requests, please email contact@softnixt.com. See our full Privacy Policy at softnixt.com/privacy for details on how we handle personal data beyond cookies.
08
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies evolves or as regulations change. The effective date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to review it periodically.
